The Pakistan-China Technical and Vocational Institute (PCT&VI) has successfully admitted 366 students from Gwadar and other parts of Balochistan into various programs. Approximately 500 students, both male and female, participated in an entry test to secure admission in diverse areas of study, including Tourism, English language, Maritime and Port Management, Software Technology, Chinese Language and Culture, Mechatronics, and E-Commerce.
According to a report from Gwadar Pro, classes at PCT&VI are scheduled to commence on January 22, as per the communicated timetable to the admitted students in their respective subjects.
The distribution of admissions is outlined as follows: 15 students in Tourism Management, 127 in English Language, 59 in Maritime and Port Management, 100 in Software Technology, 35 in Chinese Language and Culture, 5 in Mechatronics, and 25 in E-Commerce.
All vocational and training programs are developed in collaboration with the Shandong Institute of Commerce and Technology (SICT), China, and other relevant accredited institutions. PCT&VI aims to enhance the skills of the local population to contribute to the growth of the Port City. Notably, the institute was completed at a cost of $10 million in just 20 months under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in Gwadar.
