A virtual meeting was conducted between the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chinese officials to explore potential collaboration in big data and the development of Tier-Four Data Centers in Pakistan.
The high-level meeting included executives from prominent Chinese companies, along with CDA acting Chairman Talat Mehmood Gondal, Member Technology and Digitalization Nauman Khalid, and other senior officials, as reported by Gwadar Pro.
Talat Mehmood Gondal emphasized Pakistan’s dedication to improving its digital infrastructure and welcomed Chinese investment in the country’s rapidly growing digital economy, according to a news release.
He also pointed out the significant potential for growth in the areas of big data and digitalization, highlighting that such partnerships could help establish Pakistan as a key player in big data innovation.
Nauman Khalid, Member Technology and Digitalization at CDA, expressed optimism about the collaboration with Chinese counterparts, stating that it would bring advanced technology and expertise to Pakistan, ultimately boosting its digital economy.
The Chinese delegation further expressed keen interest in Pakistan’s digital transformation initiatives and offered their expertise in building big data systems and Tier-Four Data Centers.
Furthermore, officials from Guizhou, China, provided insights into their capabilities and affirmed China’s readiness to invest in Pakistan’s expanding digital sector.
Both sides agreed to continue discussions, with the Chinese side committed to submitting detailed proposals for collaboration.
Additionally, a draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be prepared and shared through Pakistan’s Foreign Office to serve as a framework for long-term cooperation, aimed at enhancing Pakistan’s digital infrastructure and fostering innovation in big data.
