Pakistan, China celebrate 74 Years of Iron Brotherhood in Beijing through a photo exhibition on Tuesday in the Pakistani embassy.
The Embassy of Pakistan in China launched a special photo exhibition on Tuesday titled “Iron Brothers Through Time: Chronicles of Pakistan-China Friendship” to mark 74 years of diplomatic ties and the 10th anniversary of President Xi Jinping’s historic visit to Pakistan in 2015. Ambassador Khalil Hashmi, in his keynote speech, described the exhibition as a reflection of a resilient friendship that has endured changes and challenges. He pointed out significant moments captured in the photos, such as the Pakistan Air Force escorting President Xi’s plane and the landmark 1964 event when PIA became the first non-communist airline to land in China.
Ambassador Hashmi emphasized that this deep-rooted relationship is based on deliberate commitment and mutual respect, not mere convenience. Referencing national poet Allama Iqbal, he stressed that the exhibition serves as a reminder of both past achievements and the shared values of peace, prosperity, stability, and trust that continue to define the Pakistan-China partnership.
Vice Minister Sun Haiyan of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, who served as the chief guest, praised the exhibition’s theme as a perfect portrayal of the China-Pakistan friendship. She recalled a moving anecdote from 2015, when an elderly Pakistani man donated land in Gwadar for a school, symbolizing the brotherhood between the two nations. He reportedly said it should represent both peoples, making it a joint contribution.
Showcasing decades of historical photographs, the exhibition not only honors past milestones but also reaffirms the shared vision for the future. Both sides reiterated that the Iron Brotherhood between Pakistan and China remains firm—shaped by history, nurtured by the people, and committed to a common future.
