Pakistan, China boosts Chinese language and skills training in Karachi in an effort to enhance academic ties and youth advancement.
The China-Pakistan TVET Industrial Center of Excellence (CPTICE) hosted a major event at the Government College of Technology in Kareemabad, Karachi, under the theme “Deepening Educational Cooperation and Advancing the Localization of Chinese Language Education.”
Organized in collaboration with TANG International Education and Technology and the host college, the event is part of broader initiatives under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), aimed at promoting youth advancement and strengthening academic ties.
Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, attended as the Chief Guest. In his speech, he emphasized that true transformation comes through self-empowerment, remarking that only nations willing to evolve can shape their future.
Dr. Siddiqui also discussed the evolving role of modern technologies like artificial intelligence, which he said would both create and eliminate jobs in the coming years. He identified Pakistan’s expanding youth demographic as a national strength, urging greater investment in education, skills training, and job creation.
He also stressed the importance of gender equality, stating that women must be given fair opportunities and that religious misinterpretations should not be used to deprive them of their rights.
The event prioritized the enhancement of Chinese language programs and the expansion of technical and vocational training to align with job market needs, further strengthening China-Pakistan educational and technological cooperation.
As a gesture of appreciation, the Principal of the Government College of Technology, Kareemabad, presented Dr. Siddiqui with a commemorative memento, recognizing his active role and dedication to the cause of education.
