The Prime Minister’s Media Wing stated that the discussions reflected the current state of Pakistan-Belarus relations, covering a broad range of bilateral issues as well as significant regional and global developments.
Both leaders expressed contentment with the positive direction of Pakistan-Belarus relations and pledged to continue the momentum through regular high-level engagements and enhanced institutional cooperation, as per the statement from the PM’s Office.
Lukashenko arrived in Islamabad on Monday for a three-day visit at the invitation of Prime Minister Sharif.
During the talks, several agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) were signed to enhance cooperation between Pakistan and Belarus in key areas, such as environmental protection, disaster management, halal trade, auditing, financial intelligence, education, science and technology, international road transport, extradition, and healthcare.
Specifically, both countries acknowledged the significant potential for deeper collaboration in science and technology and noted the progress made over the past decade. To formalize this, two agreements were signed to strengthen the ties between their scientific communities.
The two sides also highlighted the importance of boosting bilateral trade in pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and health-related products. They agreed to develop strategies to improve trade facilitation, focusing on eliminating regulatory barriers to enhance market access.
The PM Office also highlighted the signing of a strategic agreement for the “Roadmap for Comprehensive Cooperation between Pakistan and Belarus for 2025-2027,” aimed at strengthening economic ties through high-level meetings, inter-governmental commissions, and focused collaborative projects.
