Pakistan as the Guest Country at the 31st Yangling Agricultural High-Tech Expo opens its Pavilion as it seeks to explore cooperation opportunities.
The 31st Yangling Agricultural High-Tech Expo, themed “New Quality Productive Forces: A New Future for Agriculture,” began on October 25 in Yangling, Shaanxi, and will continue for five days.
As the event’s honored guest country, Pakistan held an inauguration ceremony for its pavilion, co-led by Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, and Shaanxi Vice Governor Dou Jingli. Notable attendees included Yao Hongjuan, Director-General of Shaanxi’s Foreign Affairs Office; He Ling, Deputy Party Secretary and Executive Deputy Director of the Yangling Demonstration Zone; Ghulam Ali, Chairman of Pakistan’s Agricultural Research Council; and Wu Congcong, Secretary-General of the provincial government, who served as the host.
In his speech, Ambassador Hashmi stated, “In June, during Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to Yangling, we explored collaboration opportunities with Yangling and Shaanxi Province sectors. Since then, all involved parties have actively pursued these goals. Our presence at the 31st Agricultural High-Tech Expo further reinforces our growing bilateral ties.”
He added, “Agriculture is vital to Pakistan’s economy, contributing over 20% to our GDP and employing around 40% of our workforce. This Expo offers us a chance to learn from the Yangling Demonstration Zone and Shaanxi Province, especially in agricultural technology, high-tech applications, and high-yield seed cultivation. It’s an invaluable platform to connect with the experts gathered here.”
To encourage fruitful interactions, the Pakistan Pavilion features a dedicated exhibition area showcasing Chinese companies with significant accomplishments in agricultural investment and development within Pakistan, fostering discussions among company representatives, potential partners, and agricultural experts.
