Pakistan Army warns firm response to Indian provocations as Corps Commander’s Conference was held under the leadership of COAS General Asim Munir.
The Corps Commanders’ Conference reaffirmed the Pakistan Armed Forces’ unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity against any external threats or hostile actions.
This strong resolve was reiterated during a special session of the Corps Commanders’ Conference, held in Rawalpindi on Friday under the leadership of Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir.
The gathering thoroughly examined the current geo-strategic landscape, with a particular focus on the Pakistan-India tensions and the overall security dynamics of the region.
Participants voiced serious concern over India’s intensifying human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), especially following the recent Pahalgam incident. The forum condemned continued attacks on civilians along the Line of Control and warned that such provocations would be met with firm and proportional responses.
The conference noted India’s recurring strategy of leveraging crises to pursue political and military agendas, often diverting attention from internal issues by escalating tensions externally. An example cited was the 2019 Pulwama attack, which India used as a pretext to revoke Article 370 in IIOJK.
The forum assessed the Pahalgam incident as a calculated move by India to distract Pakistan from its progress on the western front and its efforts for economic recovery. It cautioned that these diversionary tactics, designed to give space to Indian-backed terror groups, would not succeed.
Further concern was raised over India’s attempts to exploit the Pahalgam event to undermine the Indus Waters Treaty, aiming to deprive Pakistan of its rightful share of water—an act seen as dangerously weaponizing water resources and threatening the livelihoods of millions in Pakistan.
The forum also highlighted verified evidence of Indian military and intelligence agencies being directly involved in supporting terrorist activities within Pakistan, describing such acts as blatant violations of international laws and norms.
While reiterating Pakistan’s dedication to regional peace and stability, the conference emphasized that any aggression would be met with a decisive and firm response, and that the will of the Pakistani people would be upheld without compromise.
The forum stressed that Pakistan’s pursuit of peace and development will not be disrupted by acts of terrorism, coercion, or aggression—whether overt or through proxies. It vowed to confront and defeat destabilizing moves by India.
General Munir praised the armed forces for their professionalism, high morale, and readiness, reaffirming their solidarity with the people of Pakistan in defending the country at any cost. He also emphasized the need for enhanced vigilance across all operational areas.
The session concluded with the Army Chief expressing full confidence in the preparedness, deterrence capability, and morale of Pakistan’s forces, affirming their ability to respond to threats across the entire spectrum.
