Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Leader of the House in the Senate, engaged in a productive meeting with Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong in Islamabad. The discussions focused on exploring various avenues to enhance economic and strategic cooperation between the two countries in Pakistan.
During the meeting, Senator Ishaq Dar emphasized the critical nature of the friendship between Pakistan and China, stating that it is essential for the prosperity, well-being, and peace of not only the two countries’ peoples but the entire region. He expressed appreciation for China’s consistent support to Pakistan across various fronts, including during crises and natural calamities.
While expressing contentment with the current level of cooperation, Senator Ishaq Dar highlighted the substantial potential for collaboration in key areas such as agriculture, trade, investment, IT, and the financial sector.
Ambassador Jiang warmly reciprocated the sentiments of goodwill and friendship extended by Senator Dar to the Chinese people and government. He underscored the Pak-China iron brotherhood as a pivotal force for peace, stability, and shared prosperity in the region and beyond.
The Ambassador also recalled and appreciated Senator Dar’s efforts as the former Finance Minister of Pakistan in deepening and augmenting multi-faceted cooperation.
Reiterating China’s commitment, Ambassador Jiang expressed the resolve to work closely with Pakistan and the next elected government after the general elections to expedite progress on mutually beneficial ventures, especially the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
