OGDCL starts gas production from Uch-35 well as announced in a notice to PSX.
Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), Pakistan’s largest exploration and production company, has begun natural gas production from the Uch-35 development well in Dera Bugti, Balochistan.
In a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Wednesday, OGDCL announced the commencement of production from the Uch-35 well.
Using its in-house expertise, OGDCL drilled the well to a depth of 1,345 meters, targeting the hydrocarbon potential of the Sui Main Limestone (SML) formation.
The Uch-35 well is currently producing 5 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas.
Additionally, the company stated that after installing an 8-inch diameter, 1.2-kilometer flow line, the well has been connected to the OGDCL Uch Gas Processing Plant, enabling gas supply to Uch Power Limited (UPL).
OGDCL, holding a 100% stake in the Uch Development & Production Lease (D&P.L), emphasized its strategic role in this field located in Balochistan.
Furthermore, focused on synchronizing exploration, drilling, and development efforts, OGDCL is dedicated to optimizing production to enhance national energy security and promote sustainable development.
For the quarter ending September 30, 2024, OGDCL reported a profit-after-tax (PAT) of Rs41.02 billion, down over 16% from Rs49.03 billion in the previous year, with earnings per share (EPS) of Rs9.54 compared to Rs11.40 in the same period last year.
Last month, OGDCL also discovered natural gas reserves at the Shahu-1 well in Khairpur district, Sindh.
