Ningbo University delegation visits Pakistan to strengthen educational and scientific ties.
A high-level delegation from Ningbo University, headed by Academician Zhao Yufen, a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Director of the Institute of Discovery Technology (IDDT) at the university, visited Pakistan from January 19 to 24. The purpose of the visit was to strengthen scientific and technological collaboration between universities and institutions in both countries.
The delegation met with officials from Hamdard University, the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), and the University of Lahore. The discussions focused on broadening cooperation, particularly regarding the progress of a project involving seven traditional medicinal plants—such as Withania somnifera, Tribulus terrestris, and Moringa oleifera—sent to China’s space station. Topics also included the research and development of traditional medicine, space breeding technology, and training scientific research personnel.
This visit is a significant step in Ningbo University’s efforts to expand its international scientific and technological collaborations. The university has recently achieved significant advancements in traditional medicine, particularly in the area of space-based traditional Chinese medicine research, having conducted several impactful space-based experiments both domestically and globally.
