Nine students of the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF) met Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan before leaving for China to pursue higher studies under the prestigious Chinese government scholarships.
The students won MS and PhD scholarships in different universities of China in open competition in Entomology and Fisheries, according to a statement by the UAF on Friday.
The VC, on the occasion, urged the students to learn Chinese to brighten their future prospects. He said that a Confucius Centre had been established at UAF for the purpose.
An undergraduate student of Entomology won scholarship from Sichuan Agriculture University in Chengdu city; one master and one PhD scholarships from Henan Agricultural University in Zhengzhou city; two PhD scholarships from Shanxi Agricultural University in Taiyuan city; two PhD scholarships from Yunnan University in Kunming City, and two PhDs in Ningbo University.
As per details, two entomology students will proceed to China for masters degree, two entomology students for doctoral degree, three students from MPhil Zoology for PhD in entomology and two PhDs in fisheries, the statement added.
