Zhao Shiren, the People’s Republic of China’s new Consul General in Lahore, took office vowing to improve relations between China and Pakistan, particularly in the Punjab region, and to play an important role in bolstering CPEC with new energy and fool-proof security. At a ceremony conducted at State Guest House Lahore, Zhao Shiren presented his letter of appointment to Ali Faraz, Deputy Chief Protocol Camp Office Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Lahore.
Zhao Shiren on Thursday assumed the charge as the Chinese consul general in Lahore.
Upon assuming the charge, Mr Shiren vowed to further improve relations between China and Pakistan and play a role in bolstering China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He replaced Long Dingbin who completed his four-year tenure in January, 2021.
