Mutually beneficial cooperation to benefit China-Pak relations and strengthen the strategic partnership between two countries.
On Sunday, Shi Yuanqiang, Charge d’Affaires of the Chinese Embassy, stated that strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation across various sectors will further reinforce the strategic partnership between China and Pakistan.
Speaking at a Chinese New Year celebration event, he highlighted that collaboration between the two nations has progressed with high quality, providing a strong foundation for deepening China-Pakistan relations. He noted that in 2024, high-level engagements between both countries were frequent, including the successful reciprocal visits of their Prime Ministers.
Furthermore, he further mentioned that the development of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has continued to expand, entering a new phase of an “upgraded version.” He acknowledged the proactive role of Chinese citizens in Pakistan, emphasizing their contributions across various fields. Their efforts in supporting and participating in development activities have played a key role in strengthening the deep-rooted friendship between China and Pakistan and enhancing mutually beneficial cooperation.
Shi Yuanqiang also highlighted that at the start of spring in 2025, the President of Pakistan paid a state visit to China from February 4 to 8, following an invitation from President Xi Jinping. The visit yielded significant achievements.
He noted that this visit was particularly meaningful as it coincided with both the 10th anniversary of President Xi Jinping’s historic visit to Pakistan in 2015 and the Chinese New Year celebrations.
He emphasized that the visit carried great importance in shaping the future of China-Pakistan all-weather strategic cooperation and guiding bilateral relations through global transformations.
Looking ahead, he expressed confidence that China will continue advancing towards national strength and rejuvenation through modernization. He reiterated China’s commitment to high-quality development, increased openness, and achieving the objectives outlined in the 14th Five-Year Plan. Additionally, he stated that China-Pakistan friendship will progress towards an even brighter future from this new starting point.
He encouraged Chinese citizens to continue leveraging their strengths, acting as bridges of China-Pakistan friendship and storytellers of China’s development. Their role in fostering economic, technological, cultural, and trade exchanges between the two nations remains crucial. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of preserving and strengthening the Chinese expatriate community’s unity and influence in Pakistan.
He concluded by highlighting the significance of the Chinese New Year, describing it as the oldest, most meaningful, and widely celebrated festival of the Chinese nation – a time for bidding farewell to the past, reuniting with family, and embracing joy.
