Late Wednesday night, armed assailants obstructed the main highway in Gwadar district, resulting in the deaths of at least five people and the burning of several heavy vehicles carrying goods from the port.
Highway Police SSP Hafeez Baloch informed that the attackers killed five individuals after blocking the highway. He also confirmed that three long-body trailers transporting urea from Gwadar port to Afghanistan were set ablaze in the Tajaban area.
SSP Baloch further stated that similar roadblocks were reported in Turbat, Panjgur, and Pasni. Levies officials also noted that roads were obstructed in Bolan, Kolpur, and Mastung. Additionally, Levies personnel reported that one of their vehicles was torched in Mastung.
There were unverified late-night reports of an attack on a security forces post in Turbat. Residents heard intense gunfire and explosions in the town, though authorities had not yet confirmed the incident.
Security forces launched operations to clear the blocked highways and are advancing towards the affected areas at the time of reporting.
