Senator Saleem Mandviwalla highlights lessons from China’s coastal cities for sustainable development.
Saleem Mandviwalla, Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Finance and Revenue and former Deputy Chairman of the Senate, mentioned that Pakistan has learned valuable lessons from several Chinese coastal cities, particularly Shenzhen, Wenzhou, and Hangzhou.
He noted that these cities have made significant strides in food governance innovation by adopting green technologies and sustainable planning, which not only fosters regional cooperation but also enhances food access and nutrition. He made these remarks during his visit to China.
Mandviwalla emphasized that city centers along the Belt and Road Initiative have played a pivotal role in addressing diverse challenges.
He added that these cities excel in creating urban environments that are resilient, inclusive, and sustainable, which is essential for adapting and optimizing urban development models.
