International ceramic expo starts in China’s “porcelain capital” as the event focuses on integrating trade and culture.
The 2024 China Jingdezhen International Ceramic Expo began on Friday in Jingdezhen, a city globally recognized as the “porcelain capital,” located in Jiangxi Province, east China.
This year’s exhibition space has increased by 33 percent compared to last year, now covering 140,000 square meters. It features eight main sections, including international brands, famous kilns, and artistic ceramics.
More than 1,100 exhibitors are displaying products from international brands, traditional kilns, as well as local ceramic enterprises and art studios from Jingdezhen.
The event focuses on integrating trade, investment, and culture, with international brands from 12 countries, including Japan, Germany, and the United States, participating.
To encourage innovation, the expo has expanded its entrepreneurship and innovation zone, offering a platform for young artists and local entrepreneurs.
Besides the main exhibition, several high-profile events will take place, such as forums on ceramic cultural heritage and innovation, along with various art exhibitions.
First held in 2004, the expo, originally called the China Jingdezhen International Ceramic Fair, has become a key global platform to display the finest porcelain.
Over the past two decades, the event has attracted around 2,500 international enterprises from 49 countries and regions, according to the organizers.
