GWADAR, Dec.26 – To make the city safe and secure for local and foreign investors, Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) and the Ministry of Maritime Affairs (MMA) have begun work on the perimetric security system at Gwadar Port, free zones, and GPA buildings.
China Communications Construction Company and a local firm have teamed up to collaborate with GPA and MMA in this regard.
The project is a built-in multipurpose system that detects threats, performs surveillance, and analyses attack patterns, being installed to ensure a safe and secure environment in Gwadar port and adjoin Free Zone and various government buildings.
The Federal Government with the support of the Chinese operator is making all-out efforts to ensure the security of investors in Gwadar port. Under the project, around 675 CCTV cameras will be installed to maximize security measures for Gwadar port.
Simultaneously, the Government of Balochistan is also working on the Gwadar Safe City Project. Phase I of the Project has seen substantial progress with the establishment of the Project Management Unit (PMU) and the submission of technical and financial feasibility reports, in compliance with Gwadar Smart Port City Master Plan 2025.
With an estimated cost of Rs 3,325.6 million, the Gwadar Safe City Project is being executed by the Ministry of Homes and Tribal Affairs in collaboration with the Ministry of Science and Technology under the Government of Balochistan.
