Huawei is promoting Information and communications technologies (ICT) industry development in the countries it operates including Pakistan, and aims to drive long-term economic, social, and environmental sustainability.
Huawei Seeds for the Future program aims to develop skilled, local ICT talents and bridge communication between countries and cultures.
By sharing their ICT expertise and experiences in the global business environment, young people from different countries can learn about advanced technologies in the ICT industry and accumulate ICT expertise and skills through the Seeds for the Future program, contributing to the progress of the global ICT industry.
The program helps develop local ICT talents, transfer knowledge, promote understanding and interest in the telecommunications sector, and encourage regional participation in the digital community.
Since 2008, 8,774 youngsters from over 500 universities across 130 countries have acquired advanced ICT expertise and skills. They are contributing to the progress of the global ICT industry.
Recently Huawei Technologies Pakistan and the Higher Education Commission (HEC) have invited Pakistani undergraduate students to participate in the Huawei Seeds for the Future Program 2021.
The program will be carried out online from 9 to 16 August due to travel restrictions. Thirty seats have been allocated for Pakistani students for this year’s program.
Pakistani nationals including AJK residents who are aged under 24 are eligible to submit online applications for the Seeds for the Future Program 2021 before 27 July.
Only the applicants who are currently enrolled in the final year of ICT-related undergraduate degrees (four-year programs) with a minimum CGPA of 3.5 out of 4 or those who have completed their four-year undergraduate ICT-related degrees with a minimum CGPA of 3.5 out of 4 since summer 2020 will be considered for the Seeds for the Future Program 2021.
ICT-related degrees such as Information and Communication Technology, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Informatics, Multimedia & Digital Arts, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Electrical Communication Engineering, Telecom Engineering, Electronics Engineering, etc. are recognized under the Program.
Huawei included Pakistan in the Program six years ago. Since then, 87 students from different universities across Pakistan have been selected and visited China for training.
It offers more opportunities for participants to broaden their horizons, immerse themselves in a cross-cultural environment, and promote talent development.
