Huawei partners with National Bank of Pakistan for data center aiming to strengthen digital infrastructure.
The National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Huawei Technologies Pakistan (PVT) to establish a state-of-the-art National Cloud Data Centre.
The agreement was formalized at the Huawei Connect 2024 Global Conference and aims to enhance NBP’s digital infrastructure by integrating advanced cloud services within a Tier-3 certified data center. Huawei will assign dedicated teams to ensure timely implementation, continuous operations, and provide maintenance support. Additionally, NBP personnel will receive practical training and project documentation to ensure a smooth integration process.
The MoU was signed by Amin Manji, Chief of the Information Technology Group (ITG) at NBP, and Ethan Sun, CEO of Huawei Technologies Pakistan. Further, the signing was witnessed by Rehmat Ali Hasnie, President of NBP, and Riaz Hussain, Group Chief of IFRG, along with David Wang, Executive Director of Huawei, Derek Hao, President of the Enterprise Business Group for the Middle East & Central Asia, and Ethan Sun.
During the event, NBP President Rehmat Ali Hasnie highlighted the partnership as a reflection of the bank’s commitment to adopting advanced technologies for greater operational efficiency. Amin Manji further added that Huawei’s expertise will play a key role in enhancing NBP’s data management capabilities and ensuring system reliability.
