Global leaders send Chinese New Year greetings and warm wishes to the Chinese people enhancing cultural exchange.
Foreign leaders from around the world have extended their warm wishes to the Chinese people as they celebrate the Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival.
China officially welcomed the Year of the Snake on Tuesday, marking the most significant holiday for the Chinese, characterized by family reunions and various cultural festivities.
During a meeting with Chinese Ambassador to Benin Zhang Wei, Beninese Foreign Minister Olushegun Adjadi Bakari conveyed his heartfelt New Year greetings to the Chinese government and people. He highlighted the strong and enduring friendship between Benin and China, noting that the Year of the Snake symbolizes transformation, intelligence, and perseverance—qualities that closely align with Dan, the revered serpent deity in Beninese culture, associated with wisdom, wealth, and harmony. Bakari expressed his hope that the new year would bring prosperity and further strengthen the bond between the two nations.
Fijian Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka also sent his New Year wishes to the Chinese people in a video message. Representing the Fijian government and citizens, he wished for a joyful and prosperous year, filled with happiness, health, and harmony. Rabuka emphasized that the Spring Festival embodies renewal, hope, and prosperity—values that deeply resonate with the Fijian spirit. He also acknowledged the significant contributions of overseas Chinese to Fiji.
Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel, who is also the First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba, extended his sincere greetings through a video message. Speaking on behalf of the Communist Party, the government, and the Cuban people, he wished China prosperity and happiness while reaffirming Cuba’s commitment to building a China-Cuba community with a shared future.
Guyanese President Irfaan Ali also sent his best wishes to the Chinese people on the occasion of the Spring Festival. Representing the government and people of Guyana, he expressed his hope for peace, prosperity, and good fortune for all Chinese people.
Felix Ulloa, Vice President of El Salvador, conveyed his greetings in a video message, extending warm wishes for the Year of the Snake on behalf of his country’s government and citizens. He noted that the Year of the Snake symbolizes vitality and hoped it would bring prosperity, health, and happiness to all Chinese families while illuminating the path of hope.
Honduran Second Vice President Doris Gutierrez also joined in extending her New Year greetings to China. In her message, she reaffirmed Honduras’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation with China for the mutual benefit of both nations. She wished the Chinese people a Happy Spring Festival and an Auspicious Year of the Snake.
