Five terrorists killed in joint operation in Balochistan’s Duki as reported by the CTD.

A joint operation carried out by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) along with other law enforcement agencies in Balochistan’s Duki district led to the killing of five terrorists, the CTD reported on Saturday.

Amid rising militant attacks, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, the country’s security forces have stepped up counterterrorism efforts.

The CTD confirmed in its statement that the terrorists were neutralized in the Dhabar Pahari area of Duki during the joint operation.

It further stated that the terrorists belonged to a proscribed group and were involved in attacks on coal mines, security personnel, and civilians. Their bodies were shifted to Duki Civil Hospital.

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti praised the successful operation by CTD, Frontier Constabulary, and other law enforcement agencies, expressing satisfaction over the outcome.

He reiterated that all state institutions are actively engaged in fighting terrorism and vowed to defeat any plots aimed at destabilizing Balochistan.

The chief minister assured that the provincial government is committed to safeguarding the lives and property of citizens and emphasized that those aiding terrorists would face strict action.

He stressed that anti-peace elements would not be tolerated and reaffirmed the province’s determination to stay on the path of peace and development.

This operation followed a strong message from Army Chief General Asim Munir, who recently vowed to eliminate all obstacles to Pakistan’s advancement and reaffirmed the resolve to defeat terrorism.

He questioned whether enemies believed a few terrorists could determine Pakistan’s future, declaring that not even ten generations of militants could undermine the country or Balochistan.

Recently, a deadly attack in Mastung district claimed the lives of three policemen and injured 20 others when a Balochistan Constabulary vehicle was targeted.

Pakistan now ranks second on the Global Terrorism Index 2025, with terror-related deaths increasing by 45 percent to 1,081 over the past year.
