Islamabad International Airport has marked a major achievement with the introduction of its first cargo flights from China.
The SF Airlines operated the inaugural cargo flight from Urumqi to Islamabad, transporting over 25 tons of goods. Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Airport Manager Aftab Gilani warmly welcomed the Chinese delegation upon arrival.
In an official statement, Gilani stated that two cargo flights would operate weekly, with plans for potential expansion. He emphasized that this initiative would reinforce trade ties between Pakistan and China, further strengthening their long-standing partnership.
He also noted that the launch of cargo flights would not only facilitate trade but also increase cargo throughput charges, significantly boosting revenue for the Pakistan Airport Authority.
This development is expected to improve connectivity between Pakistan and China, streamline goods transportation, and enhance economic cooperation between the two countries.
