Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb and Power Minister Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari held a meeting with the delegation from Port Qasim Electric Power Company, led by CEO Liang, in Islamabad today.
During the meeting, the Finance Minister welcomed the delegation’s suggestions and stated that the Government of Pakistan acknowledges and appreciates the investments made by PQEPC China and other Chinese companies in Pakistan’s power sector.
He assured that both the Finance and Energy Ministers would continue to coordinate with stakeholders to identify and implement sustainable solutions to the sector’s issues. The PQEPC delegation expressed gratitude to the Finance Minister for his constructive feedback and support.
The delegation highlighted that PowerChina, a major state-owned Chinese enterprise and key investor in Pakistan’s energy market, would continue to cooperate with the Pakistani government to enhance the power sector.
As the Finance Minister, lauds Chinese investment in the power sector, it reassures the commitment of Pakistan towards sustainable development.
