Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, emphasized the substantial investments China has made in Pakistan, particularly through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and various energy initiatives, amounting to billions of dollars.
Speaking at an event organized by the China Chamber of Commerce, the minister conveyed optimism regarding the trajectory of Pakistan’s economy, indicating that it is moving in a positive direction.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to fulfilling agreements with Chinese firms and highlighted that these companies have significantly invested in Pakistan, harnessing its natural resources and aiding in its development.
Aurangzeb noted China’s pivotal role in the energy sector of Pakistan, with investments exceeding $20 billion. He mentioned that the CPEC is facilitating the establishment of 9,000 megawatts of power projects, which include coal and hydroelectric power plants.
He praised the unprecedented investments from Chinese companies in Pakistan, viewing it as a sign of the enduring partnership between the two nations. Additionally, he expressed his appreciation for the transparency demonstrated in the recently released report.
Moreover, Aurangzeb conveyed his gratitude for the presence of the Chinese Premier in Pakistan, regarding it as an honor and looking forward to his visit on Monday.
