Employment opportunities from China to empower Pakistani youth: Minister Wajiha Qamar stated during a Job Fair event in Islamabad.
Pakistan’s Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training, Wajiha Qamar, emphasized on Tuesday that Chinese businesses are significantly shaping the future of Pakistan’s youth by offering valuable employment opportunities.
Speaking at a job fair in Islamabad attended by numerous Chinese firms seeking to hire skilled Pakistani professionals and graduates, Qamar described the event as a powerful statement that Pakistan is moving from potential to progress.
She highlighted that Pakistan’s youth, comprising 140 million individuals under the age of 30, are not merely job seekers but key drivers of the nation’s future prosperity and innovation.
The job fair, jointly hosted by the China Chamber of Commerce in Pakistan (CCCP) and the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC), featured 20 major Chinese companies offering jobs in areas such as engineering, finance, management, skilled labor, and administration.
Its primary objective was to prepare Pakistani youth with globally relevant skills that meet evolving industry standards.
Qamar credited China’s consistent support for enabling such initiatives and reaffirmed that the friendship has helped Pakistan through both challenges and achievements.
Wang Huihua, Chairman of CCCP, noted that Chinese companies in Pakistan currently employ over 30,000 Pakistanis, constituting more than 85% of their local workforce.
He further emphasized that these companies are committed not only to job creation but also to contributing to Pakistan’s long-term growth through skills transfer and collaborative development.
With Pakistan’s youthful population being its key strength, Chinese firms are eager to serve as long-term collaborators through mentorship and apprenticeship programs to equip youth with leadership and technical capabilities.
Wang expressed that Chinese companies are offering not just jobs, but a chance for Pakistani youth to evolve alongside global industry trends, symbolizing a new chapter in China-Pakistan cooperation.
