Educationists visit Chinese university, sign cooperation MoU reaffirming commitment to academic development.
A group of nine Pakistani education leaders, known as the ‘Chinese Bridge’ Pakistani vice-chancellors (VC) delegation, visited Jiangxi University of Science and Technology (JXUST).
The delegation, which included prominent figures from Pakistani universities and educational institutions, signed four cooperation framework agreements with JXUST, covering fields like economic management, life sciences, environmental engineering, and research on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
“We are thrilled to be in China, strengthening ties with Chinese institutions and exploring new collaboration opportunities,” said Dr. Muhammad Younus, VC of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) in Lahore.
Furthermore, the School of Life Sciences at JXUST and the Centre of Excellence in Molecular Biology at Punjab University affirmed their commitment to academic development and cooperation in the MoU.
JXUST and Punjab University have had long-standing cooperation in areas like Confucius Institutes. During the visit, JXUST also hosted the 2024 Annual Council Meeting of the Confucius Institute at Punjab University. Additionally, the Centre for Security, Strategy, and Policy Research at the University of Lahore and the Centre for Pakistan Study at JXUST plan to co-host events, projects, and initiatives to support international student recruitment and brand building.
During the visit, the delegation engaged extensively with JXUST faculty, toured various departments, and participated in academic activities. Moreover, Prof. Liao Chunfa, a member of the university party committee and vice president of JXUST, warmly welcomed the delegation. “We aim to strengthen multi-party cooperation, support the Belt and Road Initiative, and contribute to CPEC’s development,” Prof. Liao stated. The signing of cooperation agreements was a highlight of the visit.
