At the Leaders in Islamabad Business Summit (LIIBS) 2025, business leaders spotlighted China’s distinct path in artificial intelligence, particularly its DeepSeek initiative.
Held under the theme “Navigating the Unknown,” the session titled “The Digital Future” brought together technology experts from Pakistan and abroad.
Speakers noted that while global AI trends often center on chatbots and content generation, China is channeling DeepSeek toward industrial and infrastructure innovation, including manufacturing, logistics, energy, and smart cities.
The panel praised this strategic direction, saying it reflects a broader vision of AI as a force to transform foundational industries rather than just enhancing consumer experiences.
Maz Hussain, Partner and Digital Lighthouse Leader at KPMG Saudi Arabia, said China’s AI approach contrasts with Western models by prioritizing real-world problem-solving and long-term national growth.
He described DeepSeek as a “revolutionary shift,” calling it a game-changer that redefines AI’s role, especially in industrial applications, standing in contrast to Western AI’s focus on generative consumer tools.
The summit spanned two days and featured over 50 international speakers and 1,000 participants from various sectors.
