The CPEC is a flagship $62 billion project of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s Belt and Road Initiative that aims to connect Asia, Africa and Europe through a vast network of highways, rail lines and sea lanes.The multi-billion dollar corridor connects the Chinese city of Kashgar with Pakistan’s Gwadar port on the Arabian Sea.
Talking about benefits of CPEC for the country’s southwest Balochistan province where the Gwadar port is located, the President said that CPEC will create ample employment opportunities for the people of Balochistan, resulting in their socio-economic prosperity.
From the onset, CPEC 2021 has focused on agriculture-centric growth, SEZs, Gwadar, ML-1, Rail network, B2B businesses, entrepreneurship, pharmaceutical industry, CPFTA-11, de-carbonization, trade, renewal energy, Optic Fiber Cable, Science & Technology, Eco-Tourism, Culture, new media, skill development, employment generation, and high-tech infrastructure.

Expressing satisfaction over the steady development of bilateral cultural ties, both the sides noted that the all-weather friendship between Pakistan and China provided a strong foundation for further enhancing bilateral engagements in domains of culture, media cooperation, and heritage protection.
They agreed that both the countries should make optimum use of existing linkages to deepen bilateral cultural exchanges and also institutionalize new mechanisms for coordinated and wide-ranging development of ties in relevant fields.
