CPEC seminar in Peshawar concludes vowing stronger cooperation as attendees emphasized need for adopting China’s vision.

The CPEC International Seminar came to a successful close with participants reaffirming their strong resolve to deepen the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and China.

Attendees emphasized the importance of embracing China’s vision for enhanced regional cooperation and stressed the need to rebuild investor confidence, especially among Chinese stakeholders in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), to spur fresh investments in the province.

The three-day seminar drew a wide array of participants from 11 KP districts, Islamabad, and several other cities across the country, underlining nationwide interest in the event.

During the final session, provincial ministers, policy experts, investors, and professionals from diverse sectors offered their perspectives and recommendations.

Dr. Bakhtiar Khan, KP’s Secretary of Culture and Tourism, urged investors to explore the province’s vibrant tourism landscape, highlighting a range of promising investment opportunities.

He pointed to specific high-potential projects that are ready for private sector involvement and international interest.

Iqbal Sarwar, CEO of the KP Board of Investment, encouraged entrepreneurs and industrialists to take advantage of KP’s favorable investment conditions, assuring full support from his office.

He emphasized that investors need not look elsewhere, as the KP Board stands ready to offer all necessary assistance for business success.

Tariq Iqbal, Deputy Commandant of the Special Security Unit (SSU), which is tasked with the safety of Chinese nationals, reaffirmed the provincial government’s dedication to ensuring security.

He highlighted the sacrifices made by the police over the years to restore peace and guaranteed that the province remains fully committed to protecting Chinese investors.

Iqbal also shared a comprehensive overview of the SSU’s operational framework and its specialized role in securing foreign personnel.

Nabeela Jafar, who leads the China Program at the Institute of Regional Studies in Islamabad, praised the substantial progress of CPEC’s first phase, during which nearly $30 billion in investments were made.

She expressed optimism for the second phase, anticipating another $40 billion in investments, and stressed the importance of strong China-Pakistan cooperation to fully harness this potential.

Journalist Farhan Ahmed, known for his coverage of China-Pakistan relations, called on media professionals to counter false narratives and actively support truthful, constructive reporting on CPEC.

The seminar concluded with the unanimous adoption of a resolution to draft a comprehensive report containing key insights and recommendations, which will be submitted to relevant authorities.

Participants also offered heartfelt commendations to the leadership of both nations for their visionary efforts in advancing China-Pakistan relations to new heights.
