CPEC bringing numerous opportunities for KP province

Addressing a public meeting, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan said that ever since the province has been linked with CPEC, a number of economic activities have been introduced which put the region on path to progress and prosperity. He also announced that numerous mega uplift schemes are also being developed, and that CPEC will bring even more economic opportunities in the future. He also announced the Greater Water Supply scheme for Timergara, the construction of the 45-kilometre Thall-Patrak-Kumrat Road, and the construction of links road for Binshahi, Jazabanda, and Laram. He also said that the Chakdarra- Dir motorway has been approved and the project will be completed with an estimated cost of Pakistani PKR 37 billion.

LOWER DIR, Oct. 9 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan said that the province was linked with China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) to multiply economic activities and put the area into a new phase of progress and prosperity.

Addressing a public meeting in Lal Qala, Lower Dir on Friday, he announced mega uplift schemes for the area and said that developmental projects of billions of rupees were underway in various areas of Dir.

“CPEC will bring more economic activities to our province,” he maintained.

He said that developmental schemes worth billions of rupees were underway in Lower Dir that would change the destiny of the area and its people.

The CM told the gathering that seven economic zones had been established in three years under CPEC to benefit people.

CM Khan maintained that the government was working to develop all the areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on basis of parity and address long-standing deprivations of backward areas.

The CM announced Cadet College for Dir and Greater Water Supply scheme for Timergara. He also announced the construction of the 45-kilometre Thall-Patrak-Kumrat Road.

He also ordered upgrading of Dir Campus to University and construction of links road for Binshahi, Jazabanda, and Laram, adding that developmental schemes of Rs one billion each would be started in the current year.

CM Khan said that Chkakdarra- Dir motorway had been approved and the project would be completed with an estimated cost of Pakistani Rs 37 billion.

He informed that work on Dir Medical College in progress and Rs. 5 billion Gopal irrigation scheme had been approved and added that Jandol Grid Station would be inaugurated very soon.

Recalling efforts of the government to benefit the masses, he said that food cards would be launched to provide free ration to needy and deserving people.
