CM Maryam in China – Agreements on agriculture, healthcare, and environment were reached as a result of different meetings.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz began her official week-long visit to China with a productive first day in Beijing, engaging in five key visits, holding five meetings, and signing multiple MOUs. These initiatives aimed to strengthen Punjab’s efforts in agriculture, healthcare, and environmental sustainability, highlighting her commitment to transformative progress across these sectors.
A notable achievement was the signing of an MOU between AI Force Tech, a Chinese company, and the Punjab Agriculture Department. This collaboration aims to establish a robotic agricultural equipment manufacturing plant in Punjab. CM Maryam emphasized her government’s focus on modernizing the agricultural sector with advanced technologies like robotics to enhance farmers’ productivity and economic well-being.
The Chief Minister also visited the Blue Tech Clean Air Alliance to address air pollution challenges. During her meeting with Chairman Zi Hongsheng, an MOU was signed between the Punjab Environment Department and the Alliance, outlining collaborative efforts to improve environmental conditions in Punjab.
In the healthcare sector, CM Maryam visited Hygea Medical Technology Co to explore advancements in medical technology, including cancer treatment innovations. An MOU was signed to enhance healthcare services, particularly at the Nawaz Sharif Cancer Hospital. She pledged to develop a technology-driven healthcare system in Punjab, leveraging the expertise of Chinese specialists.
During her visit to Beijing Shijitan Hospital, the CM examined China’s modern healthcare systems and proposed establishing telemedicine links between Punjab hospitals and Shijitan to enhance healthcare access and quality for Punjab’s citizens.
Lastly, her visit to the Beijing Municipal Commission of Transport centered on studying eco-friendly electric vehicle infrastructure and smart transportation systems. CM Maryam expressed admiration for Beijing’s green transport model and plans to implement similar initiatives in Punjab, including expanding Lahore’s metro train network and promoting sustainable urban mobility.
