The consul general highlighted that the increasing number of participating countries is a clear indication of China’s dedication to its opening-up policy. He noted that the variety of forums and side events further reinforces China’s message of openness and innovation, signaling a new global paradigm that prioritizes both openness and inclusivity.
National Pavilion Zone at the Expo
The National Pavilion Zone of the 7th CIIE includes participation from 77 countries and international organizations, acting as a bridge for high-quality, distinctive products from 19 least developed countries to access the Chinese market and connect globally. The consul general remarked, “China’s focus on collective growth is evident here,” emphasizing ongoing discussions about how China can support the development of other nations, with the exhibition designed to create opportunities for all.
The CIIE features exhibits across various advanced fields, including high-end equipment, new materials, marine engineering, biotechnology, and advanced agricultural technology.
China Pakistan Cooperation Areas
The consul general pointed out that many sectors represented at the CIIE align with areas where China and Pakistan aim to collaborate. In a joint statement, China expressed its support for Pakistani enterprises to enhance bilateral trade through platforms like the CIIE and to help Pakistan increase its exports to China.
This year marks Pakistan’s largest participation in the CIIE to date. The consul general explained, “We are represented in two distinct pavilions: one focusing on building our country’s image in the national pavilion and the other in the corporate pavilion.” Approximately 29 Pakistani companies showcased a diverse array of products, from carpets and handicrafts to onyx and wooden items. Additionally, Pakistani exhibitors were present in the food hall and surgical sector, with overall participation exceeding 50, including businesses already registered in China.
Furthermore, for Pakistani participants, the CIIE provides a valuable platform for global connections. The Consul General remarked, “The exposure our exhibitors will gain here is unparalleled by any other expo.” He also added that the numerous forums and side events, each centered around specific themes, offer crucial insights into the Chinese market, growth models, and future plans. Pakistani exhibitors can attend these forums to gain firsthand knowledge on fostering win-win opportunities.
Moreover, the consul general views the CIIE as a vital launchpad for Pakistan as it enters the second phase of industrial growth under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). With essential infrastructure in place, Pakistani exhibitors are keen to establish partnerships with Chinese companies to engage in special economic zones (SEZs) and propel this next phase of industrial development.
The diplomat also expressed his desire for a stronger presence of cultural and culinary content at the CIIE, along with enhanced B2B exchanges, stating, “This will undoubtedly strengthen the business ties between Pakistan and China.”
