The 350kW rooftop photovoltaic (PV) system at Super Modern Cold Store in Lahore, Pakistan, supplied by CHINT Solar, has been successfully commissioned at full capacity. This achievement marks an important milestone for CHINT Solar’s clean energy efforts in Pakistan, supporting the country’s sustainable development goals while providing a reliable, eco-friendly energy source.
Project manager Muhammad Yousaf noted that the system, once connected to the grid, is expected to generate around 498,225 kWh annually. This output will save approximately 200 tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 497 tons per year, showcasing significant environmental benefits.
The project utilizes CHINT Solar’s ASTRO N5 series modules, featuring the company’s advanced N-type TOPCon 4.0 battery technology. This state-of-the-art technology enhances power output, temperature stability, low-light efficiency, and resistance to degradation, ensuring reliable energy generation with a lifespan of around 30 years.
Given Pakistan’s high average annual temperature and substantial summer electricity demand, solar power potential is vast. In regions like Balochistan, a 1kW residential PV system can generate 1,990 kWh annually, surpassing solar output in cities like New Delhi and Shandong by significant margins. Despite this potential, the high cost and technological limitations of solar power have previously restricted its adoption in Pakistan.
CHINT Solar has long recognized Pakistan’s renewable energy potential and has engaged with local stakeholders to address market needs. In addition to this project, CHINT Solar hosted the Astronergy World Tour in Pakistan to discuss energy transformation with local partners, enhancing the brand’s visibility.
Additionally, Pakistani Consul General in Shanghai, Hussain Haider, visited CHINT Solar’s headquarters in Haining this year, resulting in strategic cooperation agreements with two Pakistani energy companies—Bahum Associates and Pantera Energy. The successful completion of the Super Modern Cold Store rooftop PV project underscores CHINT Solar’s dedication to expanding its presence in Pakistan and advancing the country’s clean energy future.
