According to a press release, this center will employ 17 full-time researchers focused on fostering scientific collaboration between China and Pakistan.
Established in 1912, Hunan University of Medicine is a prominent public medical university in China, offering about 20 medical programs at both undergraduate and graduate levels, with a faculty of over 4,500 and a student body of 14,425.
Dr. Choudhary has been an advocate for closer cooperation between Chinese and Pakistani scientists, particularly for setting up joint research centers between the two nations.
He has received multiple honors, including Pakistan’s Hilal-i-Imtiaz, Sitara-i-Imtiaz, and Tamgha-i-Imtiaz. In 2021, he was awarded the Mustafa Prize for his contributions to bio-organic chemistry.
Currently, he serves as vice president of the World Academy of Sciences for Central and South Asia. He is also affiliated with organizations such as the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World (TWAS) and the Royal Society of Chemistry in London.
This new center marks a meaningful step forward in strengthening research collaboration between China and Pakistan, according to the statement.
