When asked about the increasing number of foreign tourists sharing their experiences in China online, Lin Jian mentioned that he has seen numerous videos by international bloggers traveling across China and noted that more foreigners are coming to and falling in love with the country.
In the first seven months of this year, over 17 million foreign nationals visited China, marking a 129.9 percent year-on-year increase. Currently, international passenger flights exceed 6,300 per week, reflecting a nearly 10 percent rise since late June.
“This clearly shows the enthusiasm of our foreign friends for traveling to China,” Lin remarked.
China has implemented several policies to ease inbound travel, including a trial visa-free entry policy for 15 countries for 15 days, mutual visa exemption agreements with six countries like Singapore and Thailand, and extending the 144-hour visa-free transit policy to 37 ports and 54 countries.
These measures allow foreign tourists to explore world heritage sites in Beijing, experience the vibrant night life on Shanghai’s Bund, and discover historical culture in Shanxi’s ancient buildings, while also bringing China closer to the world and showcasing its commitment to openness, the spokesperson added.
“The beautiful, diverse, open, and warmhearted China welcomes everyone to visit often,” he concluded.
