Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and China’s Foreign Minister, is scheduled to visit Namibia, the Republic of the Congo, Chad, and Nigeria from January 5 to 11. The visit comes at the invitation of these nations, as announced by Mao Ning, spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, on Friday.
This marks the 35th consecutive year that a Chinese foreign minister has chosen Africa as the destination for their first overseas trip of the year, Mao noted.
