The Chinese Embassy in Tehran marked the 53rd anniversary of China-Iran diplomatic relations with a ceremony on Thursday. Chinese Ambassador Cong Peiwu, along with Alaeddin Boroujerdi, chairman of the Iran-China Friendship Association, and other members, attended the event.
Cong highlighted the long-standing friendship between China and Iran, noting that their diplomatic ties, established on August 16, 1971, have significantly progressed over time. He praised the deepened political trust, successful practical cooperation, and increased cultural exchanges, noting China’s position as Iran’s largest trade partner.
Boroujerdi praised the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries and emphasized Iran’s commitment to enhancing bilateral relations under the new administration. He expressed optimism about Iran’s role in the Belt and Road Initiative and anticipated concrete advancements in their cooperation.
