Islamabad – Chinese Embassy celebrates 97th Anniversary of PLA of China.
The Chinese Embassy hosted a grand reception to mark the 97th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA). Key attendees included General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, and the Chinese Defense Attaché, alongside numerous public representatives and civil and military officials.
Political figures such as Maulana Fazal ur Rehman and Federal Minister for Planning Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal were also present. Speeches were delivered by Gen. Shamshad Mirza and Major General Wang Zhong, highlighting the longstanding friendship and military to military cooperation between China and Pakistan.
The event celebrated the PLA’s evolution into a modern, professional military force renowned for its peaceful role in global affairs since its foundation on August 1, 1927. It has marked its position as a world force playing a significant role in promoting peace.
The strong bond between the armed forces of China and Pakistan has been a cornerstone of their bilateral relationship, especially in fostering regional peace and stability. Their reliable friendship and practical collaboration have grown to include joint exercises, personal exchanges, training, equipment support, and counter-terrorism efforts.
In his chief guest speech, General Shamshad Mirza extended congratulations to the PLA on behalf of the Pakistani people and armed forces for the 97th anniversary of its establishment.
General Shamshad Mirza praised the deep and enduring bond between Pakistan and China, noting the strong military collaboration that exemplifies their deep rooted brotherhood. General Shamshad Mirza emphasized that Pakistan-China relations are outstanding and have consistently endured through various strategic challenges, sustained by mutual trust and steadfast support. He also highlighted the robust military ties between the Pakistan Army and the People’s Liberation Army, noting their ongoing bilateral cooperation as a testament to their commitment towards peace.
Gen. Shamshad Mirza praised the enduring and strong bilateral military relationship, emphasizing the importance of CPEC in strengthening socio-economic ties. He affirmed Pakistan’s commitment to ensuring the safety of Chinese nationals in the country and lauded China’s progress and global leadership under President Xi Jinping.
Chinese Defence Attaché Major General Wang Zhong thanked the Pakistani side, acknowledging the Pakistani military’s leading role in countering terrorism and its significant sacrifices for regional peace and stability. He also affirmed their readiness to collaborate in combating terrorism and advancing peace and development both regionally and globally.
Analysts and think tank representatives present at the reception commended China’s defense policies and its role in regional and global stability.
