Pakistan Railways (PR) said on Tuesday that the coaches imported from China are fit and in sync with the railway system in Pakistan.
PR further said that the coaches were put to a test run after a thorough inspection. The coaches, after successful trials, are now ready to ply on railway tracks in Pakistan, PR said.
Pakistan recently imported 46 high-speed train coaches from China. According to an earlier report by Gwadar Pro, PR will restore operations of the Green Line train with the new Chinese coaches. The Green Line will run daily from Karachi to Islamabad via Lahore.
Under a $140 million contract, the China Railway Construction Corp. (CRRC) Tangshan Locomotive and Rolling Stock Company will supply 230 high-speed coaches to Pakistan, the report stated. Forty-six coaches have been imported from China while the remaining 184 coaches will be manufactured in Pakistan by Pakistan Railway engineers and technical staff under the supervision of Chinese experts.
