July 24th – Chinese Auto Giant to Boost Battery Tech in Pakistan following a strategic distribution partnership between BYD and Diwan Int’l Pvt Lt.
Pakistan is gearing up to enhance its battery technology sector following a strategic distribution partnership between BYD, a leading Chinese auto company and the world’s second-largest battery manufacturer, and Diwan International Pvt Ltd, the country’s largest solar component distributor. This collaboration aims to supply high-quality Lithium-ion batteries for solar systems in Pakistan.
The LV Flex Lite battery, developed by BYD, is a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) technology that has proven its safety in millions of electric vehicles worldwide.
This partnership marks a significant milestone in Pakistan’s renewable energy sector, with Diwan International expanding its portfolio to include prominent partners like Huawei Solar Inverter, Jinko Solar, Trina Solar, and Longi Solar.
Pakistan, facing challenges related to air pollution and rising greenhouse gas emissions, expects this initiative to meet the local EV battery market needs gradually while contributing to its sustainable development goals by reducing carbon emissions and promoting clean energy solutions.
According to a report, BYD surpassed Tesla last year to become the world’s largest electric vehicle manufacturer, highlighting its expertise in the field. The company’s overseas operations span Chile, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Costa Rica, and many other countries, with its electric vehicles present in over 50 countries and regions across six continents.
Pakistan’s focus on reducing carbon emissions and adopting eco-friendly transportation aligns with BYD’s global expansion plans.
Additionally, BYD’s move to develop electric vehicle production in Pakistan opens opportunities for exporting Right Hand Drive (RHD) vehicles, targeting broader markets.
