Chinese Animated Blockbuster Ne Zha 2 set for Pakistan Release as efforts are being made to bring it to local cinemas.

Pakistani audiences are eagerly anticipating the release of the Chinese animated blockbuster Ne Zha 2, and efforts are underway to bring the film to local cinemas, according to a leading distributor.

In an interview, Sheikh Amjad Rashid, chairman of Distribution Club, a prominent Pakistani film distribution company, stated that due to popular demand, they are in discussions with the film’s distributors to introduce Ne Zha 2 in Pakistan.

The film has surpassed Disney’s Inside Out 2 to become the highest-grossing animated movie globally.

Rashid highlighted that while the younger generation in Pakistan already follows Chinese actors, singers, dramas, and games, Chinese films have yet to gain widespread recognition in Pakistani cinemas. However, with Ne Zha 2 achieving global success, now is an ideal time to introduce Chinese cinema to Pakistan.

The movie has captivated audiences worldwide with its compelling narrative, high-quality animation, and stunning visual effects. Rashid believes Pakistani viewers will be fascinated by this masterpiece of Chinese animation, which showcases China’s rising influence in the global film industry.

Having distributed over 400 movies in Pakistan, Rashid noted that animated films, in particular, have performed exceptionally well. Given its engaging storyline, breathtaking animation, and top-tier visual effects, he expects Ne Zha 2 to achieve massive success in Pakistan.

He pointed out that Pakistan does not produce enough films annually to meet domestic demand, and with restrictions on Bollywood releases, there is a significant gap in the cinema industry.

Chinese films, he suggested, could be an excellent way to fill this void. The overwhelming interest in Ne Zha 2 among Pakistani viewers demonstrates the strong potential of Chinese cinema in the local market.

Rashid also shared that he recently visited China twice, where he signed agreements with Chinese distributors to introduce more Chinese content to Pakistan. The release of Ne Zha 2 will mark the beginning of this collaboration.

To ensure accessibility for a wider audience, the movie will be released in English and dubbed in Urdu.

Discussing the deep-rooted Pakistan-China friendship, Rashid emphasized that people-to-people connections between the two nations have strengthened over time.

He noted that due to the longstanding ties between Pakistan and China, as well as the presence of thousands of Pakistani students and professionals who have lived in China, Chinese culture is already well known in Pakistan. The introduction of Ne Zha 2 will be a significant step in further strengthening cinematic ties between the two nations.

He further stated that cultural exchanges through cinema would enhance mutual understanding, just as Chinese dramas and music have already gained popularity in Pakistan.

While Pakistani films have been showcased in China, Rashid believes it is time for more Chinese movies to be screened in Pakistan, fostering stronger people-to-people connections.

As Pakistan-China relations continue to flourish, he concluded, cinematic collaborations will help bring the people of both nations even closer together.
