China’s tech firm Huawei introduces AI initiatives in Saudi Arabia to boost digital acceleration.
On Monday, China’s tech giant Huawei introduced several AI initiatives aimed at accelerating Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation and supporting the Saudi Vision 2030 program.
These initiatives will bring advanced AI capabilities to Saudi Arabia, focusing on technologies that offer ubiquitous computing, lower costs, enhanced data security, and improved service experiences from the edge cloud. These efforts are part of Huawei’s contribution to the country’s economic diversification goals, as announced during the Huawei Cloud Summit Saudi Arabia 2024 held in Riyadh.
During the event, Alan Qi, president of Huawei Cloud Middle East and Central Asia, highlighted that Huawei’s cloud service currently supports over 300 customers in Saudi Arabia, including government ministries, leading telecom carriers, media companies, and most Chinese businesses operating in the country. He noted that the company’s public cloud business revenue in Saudi Arabia saw a tenfold increase in 2023.
The event gathered over 600 participants, where Huawei showcased its innovative ecosystem resources and the latest advancements in key AI technologies, particularly in AI-ready model training and inference.
