China’s school model can bring hope for rural areas in Pakistan as it gives priority to sustainable and quality education.

The Panda Industries Association and the Chinese International Academy have contributed to the educational development of Chah Darkhan in Dera Ghazi Khan by donating a school building.

Pakistan can gain valuable insights from China’s Hope Primary School model to improve education in rural and underserved regions. In China, these schools function within a well-structured system that prioritizes sustainability, transparency, and quality. Fundraising plays a key role, with financial support coming from social donations, corporate contributions, and public initiatives. The schools are carefully established in areas with limited access to education.

Upon completion, Hope Primary Schools are monitored by professional enterprises and youth development foundations to maintain quality and ensure compliance with educational standards. Teachers are assigned through a combination of local government allocations and volunteer contributions, bringing in fresh teaching methodologies. The daily administration of these schools is managed by local education departments, following national curriculum guidelines and financial regulations.

Consul General of China, Zhao Shiren, is actively promoting educational collaboration between China and Pakistan. Programs such as the Chinese Education System and Hope Primary School initiative play a vital role in delivering quality education to underprivileged children in Pakistan. These efforts aim to equip students with knowledge and skills, enabling them to make meaningful contributions to society.

Following the devastation caused by the 2022 floods in Dera Ghazi Khan, Javed Iqbal and his associates launched an informal education program in Chah Darkhan, providing learning opportunities for around 130 underprivileged children in an open-air environment. Despite the lack of classrooms, furniture, books, and uniforms, he and his team of volunteer educators have remained dedicated to offering free education for the past two years.

In an effort to integrate these children into the formal education system, China’s Consulate in Lahore, the Panda Industries Association, and the Chinese International Academy have come together to remove educational barriers. These organizations are contributing infrastructure, learning materials, and teacher support, drawing inspiration from China’s Hope Primary School model, which has successfully uplifted education in disadvantaged areas.

Recently, during a special ceremony, China’s Deputy Consul General Cao Ke joined officials from the Panda Industries Association and the Chinese International Academy to mark the donation of a new school building for the children of Chah Darkhan. The event was also attended by key figures, including Panda Industries Association President Chen Yan, Chinese International Academy Vice Principal He Yubing, Lahore Overseas Chinese Association President Luo Jianxue, Chinese Enterprise Association President Tan Zidong, Challenge Group CEO Karen Chen, Hope Primary School focal person Saad Yasin, and Principal Javed Iqbal.

In his address, Cao Ke highlighted the social responsibility of Chinese businesses and their contributions to the community. He emphasized the Consulate General’s support for enterprises and Chinese nationals in maintaining traditions of cooperation. Additionally, he reaffirmed commitments to furthering educational projects in Dera Ghazi Khan, including building more schools and reintegrating out-of-school children, initiatives that will contribute to economic progress.

Hope Primary School Principal Javed Iqbal expressed deep gratitude to the Chinese Consulate, Panda Industries Association, and Chinese International Academy for their generous support. He reflected on the difficulties of teaching children without basic facilities and welcomed the much-needed assistance. Committed to his mission, he pledged to continue his efforts in spreading education in underprivileged areas of Punjab.
