Lawmakers approved the government work report along with the work reports of the NPC Standing Committee, the Supreme People’s Court, and the Supreme People’s Procuratorate.
Additionally, they passed amendments to the Law on Deputies of the NPC and Local People’s Congresses at Various Levels. A resolution was also adopted regarding the execution of the 2024 national economic and social development plan, the 2025 plan, and their implementation.
Furthermore, lawmakers approved a report on the execution of central and local budgets for 2024, along with the draft budgets for 2025, and officially sanctioned the central budget for 2025.
In his address, Li highlighted that the session successfully completed its agenda, showcasing the strong political advantages of the people’s congress system.
Emphasizing that this year marks the final phase of China’s 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025), Li urged lawmakers to maintain a balanced approach to progress and stability, ensuring the high-quality completion of the plan’s objectives while laying a solid groundwork for the upcoming 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030).
He stressed the importance of a people-centered approach to development and the enhancement of whole-process people’s democracy.
“Unity brings strength; struggle shapes history; and hard work paves the way for a brighter future,” Li stated, calling on lawmakers to remain united and committed to advancing China’s modernization and national rejuvenation.
