China, Vietnam complete 2025 Beibu Gulf Patrol
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Chinese and Vietnamese coast guards have successfully completed their first joint patrol of the Beibu Gulf for 2025, marking the 29th collaboration between the two countries’ maritime law enforcement agencies since 2006, according to a statement from the China Coast Guard (CCG) on Friday.

The three-day patrol, which concluded on Thursday, saw coast guard ships from both nations monitoring and inspecting fishing vessels as they patrolled designated routes in the region’s waters.

During the patrol, the two sides also conducted a joint maritime search and rescue drill, which enhanced their coordination and ability to respond to emergencies, the CCG added.

Held biannually, these joint patrols have become a model of maritime law enforcement cooperation in the South China Sea, the CCG noted.

These patrols have significantly contributed to the conservation of fishery resources, the regulation of fishing activities, the fight against maritime crime, and the promotion of regional security and stability.
