China to play role in Pakistan’s uplift, Consul General stated during an event at Punjab University.
Chinese Consul General Zhao Shirin reaffirmed China’s commitment to Pakistan’s development, emphasizing that this support will continue in the future. He made these remarks while addressing a cake-cutting ceremony held in the committee room of Punjab University’s Vice Chancellor’s Office in celebration of the Chinese New Year. The event was attended by Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali, Orange Line CEO Tan Zidong, Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Khalid Mahmood, Director of the Confucius Institute Dr. Sobia Khurram, as well as Chinese teachers and students from the university.
During the ceremony, Zhao Shirin and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali jointly cut the cake to mark the New Year celebrations. Expressing his gratitude, Zhao Shirin appreciated the warmth and affection of the Pakistani people and hoped for greater prosperity in the coming year.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali extended his congratulations to the Chinese people, describing China as Pakistan’s time-tested friend. He highlighted the deep-rooted connections between the people of both nations and emphasized the important role Punjab University plays in promoting the Chinese language in Pakistan.
