China steadily expands Traditional Medicine production in the recent years as per an official.
China’s production of traditional Chinese medicinal (TCM) materials has seen steady growth in recent years, according to an agricultural official on Friday.
The supply capacity of TCM materials has significantly increased, with planting areas now covering approximately 50 million mu (3.33 million hectares) across the country—double the size compared to a decade ago, said Liu Lihua from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs during a press conference.
The production landscape has been refined, leading to the establishment of seven major regions specializing in authentic medicinal materials across China, Liu added.
As China steadily expands Traditional Medicine production, it also aims to develop high-level production bases for authentic medicinal materials, strengthen key TCM industrial clusters and specialized towns, and create distinctive herbal medicine brands to advance the high-quality development of the TCM industry.
