A Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson stated on Saturday that China is prepared to cooperate with the newly elected Australian government led by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
The remarks were made in response to questions regarding the victory of the Australian Labor Party in the federal election, which resulted in Anthony Albanese becoming prime minister.
The spokesperson acknowledged the election results and extended congratulations to both the Labor Party and Prime Minister Albanese.
The spokesperson further emphasized that China looks forward to working with the new administration in Australia, aiming to deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership. This cooperation will be guided by shared understandings between the two nations’ leaders and will focus on achieving a relationship that is more stable, mature, and beneficial for both countries, while promoting peace and stability in the region and globally.
