China-Pak digital education promotion conference held in Shandong with 180 representatives attending the conference from both states.
On November 7, the Shandong Vocational College of Information Technology, in collaboration with over 100 educational institutions, universities, research centers, and technology companies, hosted the China-Pakistan Digital Education Promotion Conference in Shandong, China. The event was attended by more than 180 representatives from both nations, including Afifa Shajia Awais, Education Counselor at the Pakistani Embassy in China; Aisha Saeed, Cultural Counselor at the same embassy; Shahid Zaman, Chief Operating Officer of the Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA), Punjab; Rashid Ali, Director General of TEVTA, Punjab; and Syed Muhammad Waqar Uddin, Director of the Academic Department of TEVTA, Punjab.
In her keynote speech, Ms. Afifa Shajia Awais emphasized the significance of bilateral collaboration in technical and vocational education and training (TVET). She highlighted the importance of equipping young people with essential skills and education for both personal and national development. Awais expressed hope that enhanced technical exchanges, practical skill-sharing, and innovative capabilities would strengthen TVET cooperation between China and Pakistan, ultimately fostering a more prosperous future for both nations.
Mr. Shahid Zaman underscored that the conference marks an essential step in China-Pakistan educational collaboration following the establishment of the China-Pakistan Digital Education Alliance in Chongqing earlier this year. He expressed optimism that more Pakistani youth would benefit from technological advancements, improving their skills and knowledge.
Initiatives for education collaboration
Wang Xierui, SDCIT Party Committee Secretary, highlighted plans to develop a cross-border online education platform, facilitate mutual exchanges between teachers and students, and create a digital education talent pool. These initiatives aim to enhance the reach, adaptability, and impact of digital education.
During the event, Afifa Shajia Awais, Aisha Saeed, Shahid Zaman, Wang Peng (General Manager of ITMC Technology Co., Ltd.), and Ding Wenli (President of SDCIT) jointly unveiled the Pakistan Luban-Mozi College (ITMC).
Additionally, Pakistani education representatives toured various practice bases established by SDCIT, including the Cyberspace Security Innovation Industry College and the Virtual Reality Training Base.
