China launches new communications satellite

China launches new communications satellite signifying its growing footprint in space technology.

On Thursday, China launched a new communications satellite, ChinaSat 4A, from the Wenchang Space Launch Site in Hainan Province, located in southern China.

The satellite was sent into orbit by a modified Long March-7 carrier rocket, with the launch occurring at 8:25 p.m. Beijing Time.

ChinaSat 4A is designed to offer a range of services, including voice, data, radio, and television transmission.

This launch marks the 532nd mission of the Long March rocket series.
